The Public Monitoring Group at Detention Facilities of the RA Police Department
The Police Monitoring Group is a civil society monitoring unit, whose objective is to provide public monitoring and oversight over the Detention Facilities of the RA Police in order to ensure the protection of rights of the persons kept in detention facilities. The Group’s mandate also includes the monitoring of detainees’ living conditions, providing information on problems within the detention facilities to the public, as well as prevention and disclosure of cases on human rights violations inside detention facilities. The Group also engages in studies on legislation and legal acts in order to submit proposals on making changes and amendments.
