The “Partnership for Open Society” Initiative, representing more than sixty civil society organizations in Armenia, is pleased to invite you to participate in an upcoming discussion titled, “Challenges to Armenia’s existence within the Eurasian Union”.

The discussion will take place on June 3rd, at 11AM, at the Erebuni hall of Erebuni plaza. (Vazken Sargsyan st. 26/4 ).

During the founding meeting of the Eurasian Economic Union in Astana on May 29th, Russia, Belarus, and Kazakhstan signed the treaty for the establishment of the Eurasian Economic Union. During the meeting, President Serzh Sargsyan announced that Armenia will be ready to sign the treaty for joining the EEU on June 15th. During this same meeting, Kazakhstan president Nursultan Nazarbayev announced that Armenia can only join the EEU without  Nagorno-Karabakh, to which President Sargsyan had no response.

This issue is of immediate importance to the security of the two Armenian republics. As such we find it necessary to quickly call for a public event to discuss the possible scenarios for regional integration and ways to neutralize potential existential threats to Armenia and Artsakh.

The speakers will include David Shanazaryan, Avetik Ishkhanyan, Levon Barseghyan, and Artur Sakunts.

RA ministers and other government officials, Ambassadors of EU countries to Armenia, representatives of international organizations, civil society and media have been invited to attend the event.

The event is open to all interested people. The discussion will include simultaneous Armenian-English translation. We look forward to your participation and contribution to the discussion.
